At Westech, there was a de-scope of the FDP and 3^rd shift government contract requirements which caused a layoff situation, but I am happy to report that the Company and the Union were able to meet and avoid any layoffs. Only one member had to bump to a lower position.  It is important as always for every member to continue to stay busy and keep up the good work because with these hard economic times the government is going to be looking at cutting any where they can. At Northrop Grumman the Union continues to process the grievance backlog through grievance meetings with the Company and Panel Hearings. Also the Union is continuing to negotiate the “Tool Policy” with the Company to come up with a better policy that makes more sense. We would like to thank all the members from Ft. Irwin that went to help out our union brothers and sisters of Teamsters Local 19 at Ft. Polk, LA. with their maintenance program. At First Student Silver Valley our condolences go out to the family and friends of Tommy Lewis who passed recently. Brother Lewis was a long time bus driver with Laidlaw and First Student. At ATI, we had our first negotiation session with the Company on November 13, 2009, which went well. As you aware your Army Corp of Engineers contract has been extended to March 2010, so this may effect when we are able to finish the negotiations for your CBA. We will keep you posted.

Automated Self Service - NEW!

Effective June 8, 2009, a new telephone line is available for check information and One-Stop Career Center locations. The automated self-service system can be used by customers who do not need to speak to a representative. Information is available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
